Jessie Ruth Bray, age 88 of Lexington, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Jessie was born June 24, 1928 in Wanette, OK, the 2nd of 3 children born to Earnest and Edith (Jarboe) Bryant. She was raised in Lexington and attended Lexington Schools, graduating in 1947. On August 24, 1949, Jessie married her best friend and the love of her life, Kenneth Idell Bray. They made their home in Lexington where together they raised their daughter, Linda. Jessie worked as a telephone operator for a time, and even owned and operated her own quilting business. Her greatest joy however was being a wife and mother. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker, caring for family. She enjoyed ceramics and quilting and has gifted many to her friends and family over the years. She was an avid gardener and could grow the most beautiful African Violets. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her daughter, Linda Bass; Parents, Earnest and Edith Bryant and Her brother, Ernest E. Bryant.

Jessie leaves behind: Her loving husband, Kenneth Bray of the home; Brother, Frank Bryant and wife Anita Kay of The Woodlands, TX; Grand Daughter, Kristi Natalino and husband Mike of Ft. Worth, TX and 2 great grandchildren, Atlas and Angelina and one on the way; Grandson, Scott Bass and wife Christine of Metairie, LA; And a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Lexington Cemetery
2 Miles East of Lexington, 1 mile south on 96th St.
