Billy “Buddy” Edward Benson age 82 of OKC, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center. He was born September 14, 1931 in Oklahoma City. Buddy was the oldest of two sons born to Carl Edward Benson and Ardell (Daniel) Benson. He grew up in OKC and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1949. He proudly served four years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged in 1952 and met a young lady from Lexington, OK by the name of Genèva Jo Timberlake. They fell in love and were married on May 1, 1953. Together Buddy and Geneva raised four boys, Jeff, Greg, Mike and Tony. They made their home in Oklahoma City where he first worked as a mechanic for his father. Buddy worked hard to provide for his family, He later became a truck driver and worked 20 years for Lee Way Motor Freight. He was a member of the union local 886, a 32 degree mason and a member of the Siloam Lodge #276 in OKC. In 1987 Buddy went to work for the Putnam City Public Schools as the grounds and maintenance supervisor. He retired at the age of 74 and was honored by the school in their year book for his 17 years of faithful service. After retiring, Buddy enjoyed staying at home working in his garden and spending time with his family. He also liked to tinker on things around the home and in his shop. Most of all in his later years he enjoyed spending time with best friend “Tillie” his dog.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Carl and Ardell Benson, Wife: Geneva Benson on July 30, 2001,

He is survived by: Four sons: Jeff Benson and wife Brandie of Yukon, Greg Benson of OKC, Mike Benson of OKC, Tony Benson and wife Deanna of Durango, CO. One brother: Larry Benson and wife Sue of Bethany, OK. 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery
