Ron Gilley loving husband and father of three children passed away at the age of 84. Ron was born on October 12, 1936, the 5th of six children born to Ernest and Mabel Lewis Gilley in Seven Shooter Ok, rural Garvin County. He attended school at Lone Star, Willow View, Wayne and finally Lexington where he was active in FFA, basketball and baseball.

After high school, he worked for Santa Fe Railroad. During this time he met Peggy Kennedy. They were happily married that year and this union continued for 66 years, which included three children, Gary, Ronda and Janice.

Ron left the railroad to work in the oil field and raise his family. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball in Lexington and Allen, hunting and fishing on Deep Fork River and Lake Texhoma. He was an avid bird hunter and his faithful bird dog Skeeter was always there by his side. During his time working in the oil field he worked for Kingwood Oil Co, then DX that later became Sun Oil.

Ron gave his life to Christ in 1970 and has been faithful to the Lord since that time. He was a member of the Lexington Church of Christ for 50 years, where he was a song leader. Gospel music was his favorite!
