East of Wayne, O.T. Mr. Vincent was with son Charley and the two were involved in a gun fight with John Swain over a tract of land. Swain hit Mr Vincent killing him. He then took aim at Charley Vincent missing. Charley reportly took a pistol from his father and fired at Swain Killing him. The whole community stood behind Vincent so much that they all came together in helping Charley pay the bond to be freed from jail.
