Mildred York, 84, passed away August 26, 2013.  Mildred was born April 23, 1929 in Amber, Oklahoma to Robert and Emma (Overstreet) Kinsey.  She grew up and attended school in the Blanchard, Amber, Little Axe, Norman areas.

Mildred married the love of her life, Eugene York on January 14, 1950. 

Her hobbies included making ceramics, “raising” her vegetable garden and rose bushes, ironing, quilting, reading, and she was a talented seamstress.  She dedicated her life to her family and loved her church dearly. 

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene York; sister Norma Jean Kinsey; 2 brothers Kenneth Kinsey and Bobby Kinsey.  Survivors include her son Robert York and wife Connie of Norman; brother Jerry Kinsey and wife Margie of Tecumseh; sister Pat Meyer and husband Lynn of Norman; granddaughter Shelley Raney of Norman; and great grandchildren Jerrod Raney and Wyatt Raney, of Norman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends. 

Visitation will be Wednesday August 28 from 1pm-8pm.  Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday August 29 at the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment to follow at Denver Cemetery in Norman.
