Tammie Dianne Spencer-Sterling

Tammie Sterling, age 61 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, February 13,2021, at Norman Regional Hospital.

Tammie Dianne Spencer was born January 24, 1960 in Woodward, OK 1 of 2 daughters born to Melvin Roy Spencer and Mildred Irene (Edwards) Spencer. She was raised primarily across the border in Kansas. Tammie married young to Calvin Payne and to this union, twins Jessie and Jessica were born. Tammie returned to school and earned her CNA Certification. Tammie devoted her life in the care of others, working more than 17 years for Norman Regional Hospital and area nursing homes.

She later married Gary Sterling and they made their home in Lexington. When she wasn’t working, Tammie enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch, and she shared her talents with her family and friends. She was an avid collector, and spent countless hours collecting hard to find knick knacks. Tammie cherished her family and especially her grandbabies. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Melvin and Mildred Spencer.

Tammie is survived by: daughter, Jessica Payne and son, Jessie Payne, both of Noble; Sister Angela Finzer of Nebraska and 4 grandchildren, Lorianne, Melody, Christopher and Jerry; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 Monday, February 22, 2021, at Box Cemetery east of Lexington. Send online condolences @ Wilson Little Funeral Home
