Rickey Lee Masquat, 63, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

He was born on July 4, 1955 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Rickey was raised in Shawnee and attended Public Schools.  He lived most of his life in Shawnee and Norman.

He worked in maintenance and housekeeping at Presidential Gardens Apartment Complex.  He was also part owner of the Pig-out BBQ Restaurant in Norman.

Rickey was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.  He enjoyed straight dancing at Pow-wows and was a Spiritual Leader at Joseph Hart Correctional Facility.  

He was preceded in death by a daughter; grandparents, Charley and Kathryn Masquat; 2 brothers, Lester John Bettelyoun, Jr. and Charles Lester Bettelyoung; and 2 aunts.

Survivors include his mother, Lula “Johnnie Mae” Masquat Battelyoun of Tecumseh, OK; 3 sisters, Sofia Fowler of Shawnee, OK, Sonia Rich of Oklahoma City and Lea Dawn Bettelyoun of Tecumseh, OK; 1 brother, Isaac Bettelyoun of Shawnee, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.   

Wake Service will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at Brendle Corner with Sherman Tiger officiating.

Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Absentee Shawnee Tribe

Burial Grounds in Little Axe under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
