Funeral services for Joyce Christine Seward will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at 4th & Jackson Church of Christ with Wylie Copeland and Steve Harbison officiating and burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Joyce passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.

Joyce Christine Seward was born December 31, 1927 in Petrolia, Texas, to Otis Franklin and Nellie (Johnson) Adams. She had lived in this area since 1987 after moving here from Anadarko, OK. Joyce had worked at the Pizza Hut in Anadarko and Hugo, OK, Coffee-Up Cafe in Minco, OK, also at the Dollar store in Anadarko, OK. Joyce loved her family very much, putting them first in all things. She loved to read, cook, to watch cooking shows, quilting quilts for her grandchildren, to watch old black and white movies, watching the Boston Red Sox's baseball games, and especially cooking brownies, cornbread, and Mexican casseroles for her family. She was also known as the “Salad Lady.” She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cleota Martineck; brothers, Troy Adams and Bill Adams; two daughters-in-law, Carla Seward and Kathy Seward and five great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by sons, Bruce Wayne Seward, of Hugo, OK and Jerry Seward, of Aviano, Italy; daughter, Linda Needham, and husband, Butch, of Hugo, OK; J.T. Adams, and wife, Norma, of Minco, OK; sisters, Betty Jackson, of Greenville, TX and Bobbie Kirkegard, and husband, Alva, of Minco, OK; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home, in Hugo, OK.
