William J. "Bill" Pillars

Funeral services for Bill Pillars will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Archey Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Gideon and Rev. Tim Harless officiating with burial following in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Bill passed away in Hugo, Oklahoma on November 1, 2009 at age of 77. Bill Pillars was born on October 4, 1932 in Soper, Oklahoma the son of Will and Gladys (Smith) Pillars. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bill married Faye McKee on August 21, 1953 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He worked as a tool pusher on the off shore oil industry until his retirement in 1995. In addition he worked as a farmer and rancher north of Soper. He was a member of the Archey Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years: Faye Pillars of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law: Billy A. & Carol Pillars of Soper, Stan & Robin Pillars of Soper, William Pillars of Hugo; four daughters and sons-in-law: Cathy & Richard Moffatt, Teresa & Danny Gallant, Donda & Raymond Moffatt, Kim & Bobby Butler all of Soper; one brother: Garland Pillars of Beaver, OK; two sisters: Mary Smith of Boswell, OK, Doni Pillars of Greenwood, LA; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
