Annie Mae Black was born July 21, 1928 in Alf, Arkansas to James Ollie and Nancy (Singleton) Hughes. She passed from this life January 6, 2010 in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.

Annie married Leon Black on July 19, 1947 in Mena, Arkansas. They were married for 62 years and raised two children together. Annie had lived in the Antlers area for 56 years and was a member of Antlers First Baptist Church, and the Nelson Extension Homemakers Unit. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends, quilting, and volunteering at her church. Annie is preceded in death by an infant son: Jimmy Black; parents: James & Nancy Hughes; brothers: Arvil Hughes & Silas Hughes; and a sister: Edna Fair.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Leon Black of Antlers; children: Roger Black & wife Carol of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Tommie Black of North Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren: Christoffer Black of Texas, Kenneth Black of Texas, Elizabeth Black of Ohio, Jason Black of Kansas, & Brian Black of Kansas; one great-grandchild: Kaylee Black; and a brother: Harold Hughes of Oden, Arkansas; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM ~ Saturday, January 9, 2010 ~ Antlers First Baptist Church
Officiating: Reverend Aaron Reed
