Funeral services for Ora Lee Covington will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Cummings and Rev. Hershell Reed officiating and burial following in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.

Ora Lee passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Ora Lee Covington was born March 31, 1920 in Shoals, Oklahoma, to John Monroe and Liddie Virginia (Sexton) Norrid.

Ora Lee married Robert Houston Covington on November 30, 1938.In 1946 the family moved to Mitchell, OR, where they stayed for fourteen years. In 1960 they moved back to Hugo, OK, and resided here the rest of their lives. Ora Lee was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She worked as a cook at Booker T Washington School for five years, and was a house mother at the Goodland Presbyterian Children’s home for five years. She was a homemaker, a friend to all and had many blended family members that loved her dearly. She loved her Lord and enjoyed worshipping with her friends and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Liddie Norrid, her husband, Robert Houston Covington, two brothers, Marvin and Leon Norrid, three sisters, Oakley Golightly of Powderly, TX, Eula Covington of Hugo,OK and Quinnie Golightly of Powderly, TX, one great- granddaughter, Kaylee Ann Covington.
Ora is survived by four sons, John and Donita Covington of Garvin, OK, Ross Covington of Smithville, OK, Roger and Judy Covington of Ft. Towson, OK, Melburn Covington and Ruthie Krum of Hugo, OK; two brothers, Willie Norrid of Hemit, CA, Glenn and Carolyn Norrid of Conroe, TX; three sisters: Johnnie Mae and Kelly Hamilton of Battiest, OK, Essie Cody of Swink, OK, and Dessie Trapp of Campbell, TX; a host of grandchildren, great-grand and great- great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 10, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
