Funeral services for Joe Don Baldwin Sr. will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel, with Rev. Burgie Thompson officiating and burial following in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.

Joe Don passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 79. Joe Don Baldwin Sr. was born April 14, 1931 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Cary Lawson and Catherine C. (Thornton) Baldwin. He served his country in the U.S. Army fighting in the Korean War. He worked in cars sales most of his career, working for Tri-County Autoplex. Joe Don enjoyed life and was a great loving family man. Music was his passion, he was a big Johnny Cash fan, played many instruments, but his favorite was the fiddle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Zelma Binkley; one brother, Bill Rouse.

Joe Don is survived by three sons, Joe Don Baldwin Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Alan Eugene Burns of Phoenix, AZ, Larry Don Shackelford of Paris, TX; two daughters, Patricia Ann Norris, Vicki Lynn Lavassaur and husband David of Greenville, TX; three sisters, Betty Jean Sims of McAlester, OK, Geraldine Bloodworth and Mary F. Glen both of Hugo, OK; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
