Funeral services for Edna Mae Barnes Thompson will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo, Oklahoma with Bro. Bobby Jenkins officiating and burial following in Soper Cemetery in Soper, Oklahoma.

Edna Mae Barnes Thompson passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 in Hugo, OK at the age of 79. Edna was born January 27, 1930 in Tallahassee, Oklahoma the daughter of George Franklin and Margaret Lusetta "Settie" (Mayo) Todd. She married her first husband, Dee W. Barnes on January 13, 1951 in Wagoner, OK. They moved to Soper, OK and had lived there most of her married life. After her husband Dee passed away she later married, Norris Thompson on March 1, 1998 in Hugo, OK and continued to live in this area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. She loved to be outdoors, growing things in potted plants and her flower beds. When she was younger she raised a large garden and did lots of canning. She was always willing to help anyone that needed help if she could.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dee Barnes; three brothers: twin brother Edgar, Bill, and Jimmy Todd; two sisters: Georgia Jenkins and Velma Smith.

Edna is survived by her husband Norris Thompson of the home; two sons: Norman Barnes and wife Susie of Coweta, OK and Richard Barnes and wife Mary of Hugo, OK; two daughters: Judi Barrett and husband Don of Idabel, OK and Sandra Davis of Temple, TX; one brother: Lloyd P. Todd of Aberdeen, WA; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Kelsey and Billie Barnes of Boswell, OK; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
