Funeral services for Herman Franklin Long will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Soper Baptist Church with Pastor Haston Boykon Jr. and Pastor Rick Westbrook officiating and burial following in the Soper Cemetery.

Herman Franklin Long was born March 27, 1934, in Soper, Oklahoma, to Richard and Katie OV (Cox) Long. He passed from this life February 2, 2015, in Durant, OK, at the age of 80.

He married Nellie Jones in Hugo, OK on January 12, 1952. Herman enjoyed horseback riding, horse trading, traveling around and looking at different horses, building fence, making frequent trips with Nellie to Arkansas and he loved John Wayne Movies. He worked and retired at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Hugo, OK.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Nellie Long; brothers: Joe Long, twin brothers: Sherman Long and Thurman Long, Wes Long, Bob Long, Bill Long, Harold Long and Travis Long.

He is survived by children: Alan Long and wife Sharon of Soper, Oklahoma, Shirley Boykin and husband Phillip of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Patsy Trent and husband Jimmy of Soper, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Jodie Long and wife Cristy, Jason Long, Mandy Mittasch and husband Barry, Shana Bounds and husband Jordan; great grandchildren: Mia Bruno, Karragen Long, JasonWess Long, Madison Doane, Grant Rickman, Neelee Rickman, Mason Mittasch, Brynnlee Mittasch; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family requests that donations be made to the Soper Senior Center in Soper, Oklahoma.
