Joan Ticknor, 75, of Bennington , Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, in Bennington , Oklahoma. She was born on Aug. 14, 1935, in Lake West Boswell, Oklahoma, to Neal and Ollie (Hale) Vansickle (deceased).

Joan was a member of the Baptist faith, she loved cooking for and visiting with her son, grandson and their friends. She enjoyed sewing and going to singings with her daughter-inlaw.

S he is survived by her son, Wayland Ticknor and wife Gayla of Bennington , Oklahoma; grandson, Lee Ticknor of Bennington , Oklahoma; special niece, Charlotte Tyson of Bennington , Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Carolyn Caldwell of Hugo, Oklahoma; very special person, Jodi Daniels of Bennington , Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy Ticknor; special niece, Wanda Andrews; brothers, Buck and Noel Vansickle; sister, Dixie Linn.

Family Hour will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, at Victory Life Church in Boswell, Oklahoma with Pastor George Tomas and Jan Lee officiating. Interment will follow at the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Hamill, Jason Hamill, Charlie Aunquoe, Garrett McIntire, Wayne Gerlach and Michael Jackson.
