Funeral services for Danny Carroll Herring will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Apostolic Jesus Name Church of Boswell, with burial following in the Restland Cemetery. Danny passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, at his home in the Boswell community, at the age of 61.
Danny Carroll Herring was born October 1, 1953, in Stuttgart, Ark, the son of R.V. and Marvell (Harris) Herring. He married Sandra O’Bannon on June 5, 1971, in Boswell, OK. Danny worked at Comet Rice in Stuttgart, AR, as a mill superintendent for 20 years and retired in 1995. Danny served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He lived in this area for 19 years and was a member of the Apostolic Jesus Name Church in Boswell, OK. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved his family especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, RV and Marvell Herring; sister, Linda Rankin; brothers, Elmer Herring, Frank Herring and Bobby Herring; brother-in-law, Rex O'Bannon.
Danny is survived by his wife, Sandra Herring of Boswell, OK; his daughter, Tina Tarry of Boswell, OK; his son, Steven Herring and wife Dana of Bokchito, OK; his wife's parents, Ray and Leota O'Bannon of Boswell, OK; sister-in-laws, Myrna Vansickle and Dena Labrada of Boswell, OK; brothers, Larry Herring of Benton, AR, Terry Herring and Troy Herring of Stuttgart, AR, Micheal Herring, David Herring and Richard Herring of Cabot, AR, Jerry Herring of Thornburg, TX; sisters, Debbie Felts and Becky White of Stuttgart, AR, Tammy Treadway of Cabot, AR, Kathy Dowdy of Jonesboro, AR, and Mary Ellen Herring of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Austin and Adrianne Tarry, Payton and Gracie Herring, Whitney and Caleb Price of Almyra, AR.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 7, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Apostolic Jesus Name Church in Boswell, OK. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
