Ethel Mae Evans

A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church for Ethel Mae Evans, 71, Durant, who died Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Rev. Anthony Williams will officiate.

She was born Sunday, Dec. 10, 1933, in Palestine, Texas, to Tommy Ray and Lura Ray. She married Lewis Evans. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going fishing. She was a homemaker and loved her friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband and sister Ruthie Braggs.

She is survived by companion Robert Nash, Durant; sons John Evans and wife Tina, Durant, James Evans, Lane, Travis Evans and wife Alline, Boswell, Andy Evans and wife Peggy, Durant, Gary Evans, Cushing, David Evans and wife Amy, Durant; daughters Sunday Marie Evans, Dallas, Texas, Lora Ann Evans, North Fork, Va.; brothers H.D. Wright, Gun Barrell City, Texas, Billy Ray, Kemp , Texas; friend Erline Brown, Durant; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Boswell Cemetery with pallbearers David Bridges, George Riter, Mike Folearcik, Paul Davidson, Leslie Young, Gerald Brown, Garland Brown and James Davidson.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
