Funeral services for Jimmie D. Weatherford will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Burgie Thompson officiating, and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Jimmie passed suddenly from this life surrounded by family on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the age of 83.

Jimmie D. Weatherford was born May 24, 1929, in Dixie, Oklahoma, the son of Ed and Mary Hazel (Stroud) Weatherford. He met and married his sweetheart of sixty-four years, Minnie Mae Dutton on July 15, 1948, in Lorenzo, Texas. Together they lived out in New Mexico and farmed over one-thousand acres. While in New Mexico, he enjoyed running grey hounds after jack rabbits. They moved their family to Hugo, Oklahoma in 1960 when the boys had some health issues and have lived here since that time. Jimmie studied and became a Real Estate Broker in 1961 and opened Weatherford Real Estate that he continued to operate today. While in this area he enjoyed running some cattle and horses as well as gardening. In his later years he became fondly known as Pops to his grandchildren and many of his friends across the State.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Hollis Weatherford; one grandson, Tim Weatherford; and one granddaughter, Danielle Weatherford.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Minnie Weatherford of the home; two sons, Gerald Weatherford and wife Brenda of Hugo, OK, Dale Weatherford of Campbell, TX; one sister, Eddye Gayle Stout and husband Biddy of Garvin, OK; grandchildren, Kristinia Fischer and husband Charles of Omaha, TX, Chad Weatherford and wife Stacia of Swink, OK, Shelly Wall and husband Brandon of Hugo, OK, Amanda Bazor and husband Josh of Marietta, OK, Darrel Weatherford of Campbell, TX, Dana Starr and husband Brandon of Hugo, OK; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
