Funeral services for Christine Edge Ward will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor Colby Bryant officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Christine passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Christine Lavell Edge Ward was born October 24, 1926, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Steve and Vera (Franks) Minor. She was a homemaker and lived in this area most of her life. After the death of her first husband, Stanley Edge, she married Alvey Ward on October 15, 1994, in Hugo, OK. Christine had worked at the Glove Factory in Hugo, OK for 17 years. Mama loved to work in her garden, can what she grew, crochet, fish, and make pecan brittle, and enjoyed visiting and sharing all with her friends. She worked hard all of the time and hosted ministers in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Stanley C. Edge in 1993; second husband, Alvey L. Ward in 2011; one daughter, Sandra in 1988; sisters, Ruth Dancer and Lois Butler.

Christine is survived by daughters, Billye Smith and husband, Roger of Soper, OK, Judith Hollcroft and husband, Don of Lovington, NM and Vivian Tadpole Kendall of Goldsboro, NC; one sister, and Betty Sue McEnany and husband Bill of Ponca City, OK; eleven grandchildren, Kelly Holmes of Goldsboro, N.C., Vincent and Tammy White of Caney, OK, Clifton and Heather White of Conroe, TX, Cheryl and Dennis Kaminski of Springs, TX, Malcom and Donna Price of Mabank, TX, Micky and Cindy Price of Bedford, IN, Tara Primm of West Richland, WA, Kristie Holmes of Newport News, VA, Debbie Joe and Ross Fortune of New Brawnsvill, TX, Randy and Wendy Smith of Allen, TX and Rodney and Kari Smith of Anna, TX. sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo,OK.
