Funeral services for Dorothy "Dot" Rogers will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel, with Rev. Mike Bryant officiating, and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK.

"Dot passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 83. Dorothy Mae Rogers, fondly known as Dot, was born May 12, 1927 in Hugo, OK, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.T. "Tom" Holton. Dot was the last of the eight Holton children. Dot met and fell in love with William Winton "Bill" Rogers. They married, and began their life together on October 24, 1948, in Hugo, OK. Together they had two children; William Thomas and Peggy Elaine. They began their life in the construction world in Alexandria, Louisiana. Their lives took them many places including Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, and many years residing in Alaksa. Dot was, as well as being a mother and housewife, also worked in retail and taught piano lessons. She was an accomplished pianist and played for the church. She earned an Associate degree in Music. She and Bill retired and returned to Hugo, OK where they lived until moving to Paris in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Bill, on December 9, 2008; and her siblings.

Dot is survived by her son, William Thomas "Tom" Rogers, wife Kathy, and granddaughter Gwenlyn all of Bend, Oregon; her daughter, Peggy Elaine Rogers of Paris, TX and granddaughter Abilgail Ball of Wichita Falls, TX; nephew Danny Paul Holton of Paris, TX, and cousin Yvonne Snellen of Paris, TX.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 15, 2011, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
