Funeral services for James Redwine will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Hugo. Bro. Randy Schreurs and Bro. Ed Pisachubee will be officiating with Chester Cearley and niece, Cheryl Kreplin offering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma and include the Armed Forces Honor Guard.

James passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, in Hugo, OK at the age of 84. James C. Redwine was born July 12, 1925, in Hugo, OK the son of Henry and Floy (Eoff) Redwine. He had lived in this area all of his life and graduated from Hugo High School Class of 1943 as Salutatorian. Following high school he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and served as a 2nd Lieutenant flying in the A-26 over Italy as a Bombardier-Navigator during World War II. He married Helen Louise Houser on October 26, 1946, in Hugo, OK. After the service James and his wife owned and operated Redwine Grocery for about 18 years. After selling the store he worked at Security First National Bank for about ten years. During that time James graduated from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU. Following that, James established Redwine Real Estate where he worked for almost forty years. His Christian faith was very important to him. He taught the boys Sunday school class at First Baptist Church for many years. James was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and helped organize the men’s breakfast. James was active in the local civic affairs being a member of the Rotary Club, Hugo Chamber of Commerce, American Legion for over 60 years of continuous membership, Board member of Goodland Academy, and Commissioner of Hugo Little League Baseball. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, following his favorite sports teams - Hugo Buffaloes, Oklahoma Sooners, and Texas Rangers.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Davidson.

James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Louise Redwine of the home; three sons, Jim Redwine and wife Gloria of McKinney, TX, Gary Redwine and wife Shauna of Dallas, TX, Kevin Redwine and wife Lynn of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Jon Redwine and wife Bonnie of Wylie, TX, Paige Redwine, Holt Redwine and Blake Redwine all of Dallas, TX, Rob Redwine of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Bill Redwine of Hugo, OK; sister-in-law, Jannie Clark of Rockwell, TX; several nephews and one niece; cousins, Roy Montgomery and wife Jan, Mary Beck, Tommie Kernell and Vernie Wadley all of Hugo, OK.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Goodland Academy or First Presbyterian Church of Hugo.
