Juanita (Beavers) Popchoke

Funeral services for Juanita Popchoke affectionately known as "Lady" ¯and "Nana" ¯ will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Mr. Steve Harbison officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Juanita passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Juanita Popchoke was born April 19, 1921, in Nelson, Oklahoma, the daughter of William R. and Alice Jane (Antwine) Beavers. She lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and flowers. She worked many years serving in 3rd ward and Jr. High School food service. Juanita's family was her life and her grandchildren her pride and joy; and was known as a friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Odell Popchoke in 1982; one son, Gary Popchoke in 1990; one great grandson, Mason Ely in 2008; five sisters, Roberta Partin, Loretta Smith, Elizabeth Davis, Leota Bardin, Alfayeda Ingram; two brothers, Jack Beavers, W.R. Beavers Jr.

Juanita is survived by one son, Ronald Popchoke and wife Marsha of Bemus Point, NY; four grandchildren, Lisa Callahan and husband Darren of Villa Rica, GA, Jennifer Popchoke of Douglasville, GA, Michelle Wood and husband Travis of Rochester, NY, Leslie Popchoke of Chicago, IL; five great-grandchildren.
