Funeral services for Bill E. Morton will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Donnie Howard officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Billy passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.

Bill Ershel Morton was born November 20, 1933 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Harry and Evelyn (Roberts) Morton. He married Wanda Choat on October 10, 1952 in Hugo, OK, making this year their 63rd year of marriage. He served four years in the U.S. Army. Bill moved back to this area in 1989 after living in New Hampshire where he worked most of his life as a diesel mechanic and driver for Hertz. Bill was fondly known as “Tex”; he was a very hard worker who loved his family and was devoted to his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by wife, Wanda Morton of the home; son, Leonard Ray Morton of Derry, NH; daughters, Debra Lynn Veltsos of Salem, NH, Velta Yvonne Ryan of Durant, OK, Brenda Kay Dossey of Hugo, OK; sisters, Nadine Yvonne Weatherby of Andover, MA, and Velta Ray Hanson of Naples, FL; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Nation, Katie Falconer, Heather Morton-Cawthron, Angela White, Alicia Vinent Colman, Billy Dossey, & Charles Dossey; 8 great-grandchildren as well.
