Etheleen (Eitel) Morehead

Funeral services for Etheleen Morehead will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clayton Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Britt Lesley officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Etheleen passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of 82. Etheleen Morehead was born May 27, 1927 in Spencerville, OK the daughter of Joe and Julia (Baskin) Eitel. She attended SOSU and received her degree in elementary education from which she later retired. She married Howell Morehead on May 19, 1945 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Etheleen was a member of the Clayton Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years; she loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian. She loved to fish, camp, crochet, and doing garage sales. Known by all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all their friends as "Mema"; something she treasured was taking care of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howell of 64 years in July 2009.

Etheleen is survived by one son: Ronnie Morehead of Ada, Oklahoma; one daughter: Sandra Cody and husband Larry of Hugo, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Michele Ellis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kristi Myers and husband Steven of Ada, Oklahoma, Nicholas Cody and wife Brenna of Hugo, Oklahoma, Courtney Morehead of Ada, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren: Magan Ellis, Morgan Ellis, Shade Cody, Greenlee Myers, Savannah Myers.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 15, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
