Funeral services for Garth D. "Moose" Hampton will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Doug McClure officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

He passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 67. Garth D. "Moose" Hampton was born June 4, 1943 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Garth and Ruth (Hunkapillar) Hampton. Moose Hampton was born June 4th, 1943 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He was raised in Hugo. Moose worked as a lineman and traveled the country in his profession, spending several years working in Saudi Arabi. He returned to Hugo fulltime in 1981 and got heavily involved in the Little League program. His passion was working with and helping kids through coaching baseball, he spent many years as the commissioner of the Hugo Little League. His special joy in recent years was watching his granddaughters play softball.

He was preceded in death by his parents Garth and Ruth (Hunkapillar) Hampton, and one sister, Janet Hampton.

Moose is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Krista Hampton of Durant, OK; one niece and husband, Amy and Wade Scott of Hugo, OK; one aunt, Ruby Percival of Paris, TX; three cousins, Monda Fugett of Reno, TX, Gretta Lee of Oklahoma City, OK, and Frances Harrison of Midwest City, OK; grandchildren, Sydney, Charley, and Tim Hampton, Durant, OK.
