Les Roberts, Jr. was born on February 26, 1958, in Oklahoma City, OK., he was the son of Leslie Richard Roberts Sr. and Joyce Lucille (Bostic). Les passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Hugo, OK at the age of 54. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Lucille Bostic.
Les is survived by his wife, Gayla, his children, Rebekah King of Durant, OK, Sarah Sexton and husband Nathan of Colbert, OK., Jake Roberts of Colbert, OK., and grandchildren Karis, Alex, Silas, Caedis, and Jayden; his father, Leslie Roberts, Sr. and wife, Barbara of Colbert, OK, brother Scott Roberts of San Antonio, TX., sister Sharlee Lucas of Ada, OK., and an aunt that was like a mother, Norma James and husband Charles of Hugo, OK., several nieces, including Lily Roberts and Belle Roberts both of San Antonio, TX, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, friends, and his many church families.
He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended N.E. High School. Les graduated Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and later attended Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. He began his ministry in 1982 at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church and had 30 years of ministry in Oklahoma and has also taught school.
Les was Pastor of Clayton Avenue Baptist Church, Hugo, OK where his services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. A memorial will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. also, at Clayton Ave. Baptist Church in Hugo, OK.
Pastors Ronnie Harris, Jeff Reeder, Larry Maynard, and Skip Robinson will be officiating the services. Family and friends are invited to go online at www.praterlampton.com to sign the guest book, send private condolences or to make contributions to Falls Creek Children Church Camp in his memory.
