Memorial services for Betty Arnett Muntz will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Hugo, OK with Rev. Arlin Fowler officiating. Betty passed away on October 17, 2011 at her home in Hugo, OK.

Betty Arnett Muntz, age 69, was born March 3, 1942, in Lubbock, TX, the daughter of William Howell and Edna (Younge) Arnett. She had lived in Hugo since 1951 after moving here from Clovis, New Mexico. She graduated from Hugo High School in 1960 and moved to Norman, OK to continue her education at the University of Oklahoma. Betty graduated from college in 1964 and married John C. Muntz on August 15, 1964. After living in Norman and Duncan, they moved back to Hugo for good in 1971. She had taught computer science in the Hugo Jr. High School from 1985 until she retired in 2008. Betty was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and was Ms. Rodeo Oklahoma in 1961. She loved to ride horses, play tennis, and be with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty is survived by her husband, John C. Muntz of the home; her three children: Weston Alan Muntz and wife Georgine of Grapevine, TX, Wade Arnett Muntz and wife Tisha of Frisco, TX and Shannon Lynn Mueggenborg and husband Greg of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, Peyton, Allison and Lauren Muntz of Frisco, TX, Olivia and Will Muntz of Grapevine, TX and Samantha and John Mueggenborg of Tulsa, OK.
