1940 - 2005
Henry (Hank) Stinnett February 2, 1940 June 12, 2005 Graveside funeral services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home Thursday, June 16, at 10 a.m., at Shafter Memorial Park, for Henry Stinnett, age 65, who passed away June 12, in Shafter. A memorial service will follow at Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church. Pastor Pat Coyle will officiate.
Henry was born February 2, 1940 in Swink, Oklahoma to Henry & Jewel Stinnett and the family moved to this area when he was two years old.
He attended Wasco Elementary Schools and graduated Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1958.
He married Gloria Schultz May 5, 1961 and they lived in Seattle from 1962 until 1964 while Hank served his CO duty as a truck driver for Goodwill. Upon returning to Shafter he worked for Lee Bergman Farms and Horn Processing as a truck driver and other duties that came up.
He enjoyed playing city league baseball and basketball in his younger years and later became an avid spectator, watching his son play sports.
Henry was a history buff and enjoyed watching Jeopardy for the history trivia. He was also a collector and frequented the antique shops on trips to the beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Gloria Stinnett of Shafter; son, Mark Stinnett and wife, Amy of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Jenny and Matthew; sister, Bobbie Hedrick and husband, Richard of Bakersfield; brother-in-law, Carl Beach and wife, Von of Wasco; mother-in-law, Ethel Schultz of Shafter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Cathy Schultz of Sun City, Arizona, Douglas and Linda Schultz of Cedarville, Teresa and John Soranno of Bakersfield and David Schultz of Bakersfield; many nieces and nephews and other loving family members.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation, Hoffman Hospice or the charity of your choice.
