Memorial services for Charles (Heavy) Ray Collins will be held Monday, August 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ft. Towson Gym, Ft. Towson, OK. He passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the age of 81.
Charles Ray Collins was born May 13, 1930, in Ft. Towson, OK. The son of Claude and Lillie (Bates) Collins. He married Shirley Collins, December 27, 1989, in Ft.Towson, OK. Charles was a County Clerk for 26 years in Ft. Towson before his retirement. His father and family members were very active in the politics of their communities. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ft. Towson. Charles was a member of the Masons. He loved the outdoors, hunting, mule back riding, and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Collins of the home; three sons, Claude Ray Collins of Dallas, TX, Charles Clint Collins of Hugo, OK, Chris L. Collins of Swink, OK; stepson, Stephen Karr of Hugo, OK; daughter, Glenda Joy Collins of Boyd, Alabama; step-daughter, Terry Karr of Hugo, OK; brother, Robert Collins of Ft. Towson, OK; sister, Myrtle Goodman of Ft. Towson, OK; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter.
