Funeral services for John Wesley Durant will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Elder Cleland Willis officiating and burial following in the Homas Cemetery. John passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 in Hugo, OK, at the age of 75.

John Wesley Durant was born December 15, 1939 in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Emeziah W. and Martha May (Wesley) Durant. He enjoyed Gospel singing and playing guitar at church. He was a longtime member of Homas Chapel. John worked hard as a farmer and ranch hand for many, many years. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one brother, Smallwood Dan Durant; one sister, Dorothea (Durant) Herrera; and one daughter, Irene Bond Jones.

John is survived by one granddaughter, Harolyn Myers and husband, Bradley, of Hugo, OK; four great-grandchildren, Bruce Thomas, Bryanna Myers, Aryiel Myers, & Angelica Myers, all of Hugo, OK; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
