Funeral services for Ava Dale Gooding will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Otis Cayton officiating and burial following in the Grant Cemetery.

Ava Dale passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 in Hugo at the age of 86. Ava Dale Gooding was born December 21, 1922 in Choctaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of E.L. and Callie (Russell) Ward. She was a lifelong resident of Hugo and worked for many years as a salesperson in the clothing business.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Barry Dale Gooding and Charles Neal Gooding.

Ava Dale is survived by one son: Bruce Gooding of Hugo, OK; three grandchildren: Kooper Gooding, Matthew Gooding, Tina Gates and husband Carey; three great-grandchildren: Merik Gates, Sagen Gates, and Azlynn Gates.
