Funeral services for Lucille Davidson will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Minchey officiating and burial following in the Grant Cemetery. Lucille passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 in Soper, Oklahoma, at the age of 85.

Lucille Maxine Davidson was born February 13, 1930 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to C.A. (fondly known as Grandaddy “Cucklebur” and/or Charlie) and Babe Lewellen. Lucille married Thomas Davidson on April 27, 1946 in Hugo, OK after he had served his country in the United States Army. Thomas was her life, for over 69 years she followed him faithfully and made an excellent home wherever they were. Lucille was always found at the local beauty shop on Fridays getting her hair fixed, followed by a weekly date to the Hugo Busy Bee with Thomas and the children. They were both members of the Grant Baptist Church. Lucille will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who loved to cook big family dinners and have her loved ones gather to share. She had a fondness for roses of all colors, and was a master preparing her huge dinner fares from the fresh garden supply her husband diligently worked for. Lucille was a true Yellow Dog Democrat who adored William “Bill” Clinton while he served as our U.S. President. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Thomas Davidson on April 17, 2015; daughter, Lara Sue Todd; grandson, Johnny Ray Davidson; sister, Lousie Combs and brother, Johnny Joe Lewellen.

Lucille is survived by daughter, Gwenda English and husband, George, of DeKalb, TX; sons, Johnny Davidson of Grant, OK, Terrell Davidson and wife, Sue, of Ft. Towson, OK, and Audie Davidson of Grant, OK; sister, Dessie Miller and husband Bill of Mustang, OK; brother-in-laws, Mack Davidson of Duncanville, TX, Kenneth "A.D." Davidson of Grant, OK, and Harvey Don Davidson of Hugo, OK; sister-in-laws, Etta Gordon of Paris, TX, and Betty Sain and husband Etherage, of Chicota, TX; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren; a host of other family members whom she loved dearly!

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Prater Lampton Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
