Services will be Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Ft.Towson Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Lawrenson officiating and burial following in the Ft.Towson Cemetery.

Linda Sue went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. Linda Sue Vandever was born July 5, 1949, in Paris, TX, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Taylor) Childers. She had lived in this Ft. Towson area most of her life and was a member of the Ft. Towson Baptist Church. Linda had worked as a cook in the Ft. Towson School for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed doing crafts, reading and word puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Childers; sister, Sandra Payne; niece, Sheryll Lindamood.

Linda is survived by her mother, Mary Childers of Ft. Towson, OK; daughter, Emily Golden and companion, Ray Harris, of Tishomingo, OK; three sons, John "Buddy" Vandever and wife, Katie of Ft. Towson, OK, Matthew Vandever and wife, DJ of Kentucky and Bryan Vandever of Ft. Towson, OK; two brothers, Bob Childers and wife, Debbie of Hugo, OK and Paul Childers of Ft. Towson, OK; one sister, Barbara Gail Vandever and husband, Roger of Ft. Towson, OK; brother-in law, Mike Payne of Sawyer, OK; nine grandchildren, Hanna, Simon, Samantha, John Wayne, Bentley, Teresa, John, Lance and Bradly; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
