Larry E. Hayes Sr. was born January 8, 1944, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Albert and Meecy Izell (Pendleton) Hayes. He passed from this life December 29, 2013, in Sherman, Texas, at the age of 69.

Larry was of the Pentecostal faith and lived in the Hugo for 38 years. He enjoyed riding his chair around town, race cars and spending time with his grandkids.

Larry was preceded in death by his his parents: Albert and Meecy Izell Hayes; and a son: Luke Hayes Sr.

He is survived by his companion of twenty-four years: Lola of Hugo; children: Angela Hayes, Leona Wheeler, Larry Hayes Jr. & wife Nicole, Leevon Hayes, Leevi E. Hayes & husband John Henderson; grandchildren: Joseph DePriest & wife Stephanie, Devin Starkey & wife Cassie Wayman, Brandi Adkism & husband Marcus, Wafford Hinsley, Dakota Hayes, Jordan Hayes, Christa Weekley, Dalton Weekley, Brittany Phelps, Blaze Shannon, Brooklin Brooks, Luke Hayes Middleton, Luke Makenzzie, Corey Hayes, Rusty Hayes; great grandchildren: Terrah Ogrady, Joseph Depriest Jr., Kyle Starkey, Cadence Starkey, Ashton Starkey, Dayjana Adkism, Markeda Adkism, Markell Adkism, Jermy Hinsley, Jazmyn Phelps, Malachi Kindricks; numerous other kids he loved; as well as many other relatives and friends.
