Celebration of Life services for Jennings Hershel Dorsey, fondly known as “Jink”¯ will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK. Private burial will be held later by the family in the Ft. Towson Cemetery. Jink went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the age of 83.

Jennings Hershel Dorsey was born December 3, 1929, in Heavener, OK the son of James McKinley “Mack”¯ and Frances (Naylor) Dorsey. He attended Chula Vista High School. Jink married Margaret Ann Davis on July 25, 1974, in Cortez, CO. He served his country in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean War. Jink had lived in this area for the past 32 years after moving here from Bloomfield, NM where he had lived for many years. He was an ordained Baptist minister and in his early years he ranched and drove a truck. Jink worked for Western Farmers Electric Coop from 1981 to 1994, and then worked for Fuel Tech for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening especially growing corn and tomatoes and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Dorsey; son, Jennings Dorsey Jr.; brothers James Dorsey, Melvin Dorsey and Theo Dorsey; sisters Mildred Mendoza, Edna Graham and Zid DeRouen. Jink is survived by his children, Joanna Gunter and husband Floyd of Sawyer, OK, Gail Correia and husband Darrin of Yuba City, CA, Sherry Gatheright and husband Yancy of Rattan, OK, John David Dorsey of Hobbs, NM and Christie Green of Chicota. TX; sister-in-law Shirley Dorsey of Muskogee, OK; brother-in-laws Mike Oā€™Hehir and wife Roz, Harvey Davis and wife Karen all of Michigan, Terry Davis and wife Becky of NM; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 19, 2013, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK. Family and friends are also invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
