Funeral services for Jimmie Ray Collins will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Ft. Towson First Baptist Church, with Pastor Neil Thornburg officiating with burial following in the Ft. Towson Cemetery in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. Jimmie went to be with His Lord in his home on May 17, 2013, at the age of 76.

Jimmie was born September 9, 1936, in Ft. Towson, OK, the son of Jimmy and Beulah (Maddux) Collins. He was born and raised in Ft. Towson and graduated in 1954. He married Dolores Ann Collins, in Ft. Towson, OK.

Jimmie had a career as an Educator for 44 years, teaching as a Math Teacher for many years, and then was promoted as a High School Principal in Ralls, TX between 1971-1979. He was then promoted as an assistant Superintendent, and retired as the Superintendent of Schools the last three years of his career in Floydada, Texas. Jimmie loved his children and his grandchildren very much, and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a great Father and Grandfather. Jimmie had the ability to build any type of building just by designing the structure himself, a talented carpenter in his own natural ability.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Dolores Ann Collins of the home in Denison, TX; son, Dr. Terry Collins and wife Pamela, their children, Mechelle Helmberger, Jacob Collins, and Callie Collins of Stillwater, Ok, son, Tony Collins of Denison, TX and Tony’s daughter, Allison Cooper of Borger, TX; daughter, Cynthia DeAnn Collins of Ft. Towson, OK, and DeAnn’s daughter, Emily Posey of Roby, TX; one great-grandson, Collin Helmberger; one brother, Billy Roy Collins and wife Mary Nell of Charleston, S.C.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 19, 2013, between 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
