Galela Joyce Powers Foreman
Tahlequah Daily Press
Tahlequah, Oklahoma
July 6, 2012
Submitted by: Sabrina Hitchcock

Galela Joyce Powers Foreman was born April 1, 1929. Galela passed on peacefully in her home in Hulbert on June 29, 2012, preceded by her daughter, Rebecca Marie Bantista; son, Robert “Bobby” Bantista; and Grandson, Abram Louis Black.

She leaves behind her husband Bill Foreman; sons, Rudy Michael, Raymond and Ronald Bantista; her daughters, Ramona Marie Quoetone, Renee' Bantista, and Ruth Ann Bantista; along with 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her life was dedicated to her family, as well as a career as a housemother at Riverside Indian School and later as an assistant librarian at OU Medical Center. Literature, collecting antiques, gardening and big band music were all favorite pastimes for her. Her love of books was reflected in her volunteer work of helping to maintain the book rooms at several thrift stores in the area.

A private family gathering is being held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations to the public library would honor her memory. We will carry her in our hearts forever.
