Buford Lee Ware

Buford Lee Ware
July 28, 1934 ~ January 12, 2025

Buford Lee Ware, 90, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on January 12, 2025. He was born on July 28, 1934, in Omaha, Arkansas, and lived a life full of love, devotion, and simple joys. Buford married the love of his life, Gail Ware, on August 13, 1955, and together they built a beautiful life and family. A Christian man with a kind heart, Buford’s faith and dedication to his loved ones were at the core of everything he did. He found great joy in the outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, or caring for the geese that made their home on his property. Buford’s daily routine of handfeeding them three times a day was a testament to his patience and nurturing spirit. He also loved spending time tinkering around his home and faithfully tending to his yard on his riding lawn mower. Buford will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and his ability to find contentment in life’s simplest pleasures.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2024, at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor, followed by a brief service before proceeding to the cemetery. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, Oklahoma. To share a message or memory with his family, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.

Buford is survived by his loving wife, Gail Ware, of the home; his daughters, Karen Schmidt of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Debbie Ware of Pryor, Oklahoma; his grandson, Brian Burch of League City, Texas; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Miles, Parker, and Brian Burch, Jr., also of League City, Texas. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Ware and Margie Ewing, sister, Lavonne Glover and infant brother, Bobby Ware.
