Virginia Ann (Rice) Pell was born on April 26, 1949, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Ray and Virginia Evelyn (Skinner) Rice. She departed this life on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was raised in Chouteau, Oklahoma, and graduated from Chouteau High School with the Class of 1967. On June 5, 1970, she married the love of her life, Jack Pell, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They shared over 40 years together before his passing in 2011.

Throughout her life, Virginia called several places home—including Tulsa, Jenks, and Chouteau—but eventually settled in Pryor in 2010. She worked for the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association for more than six years, managing payroll, and later dedicated over 16 years to FabriCut as a seamstress before retiring in 1998.

Virginia was a faithful member of Word Fellowship in Chouteau, where her love for God was evident in her daily life. She read her Bible cover to cover every year, holding her faith in Jesus as her highest priority. She was also a lover of crossword puzzles, sewing, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Known affectionately as “Nana,” Virginia’s unconditional love and generous spirit touched all who knew her. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel like family. Virginia’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Word Fellowship in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Pastor Mark Johnson and Reverend Curtis Owens will officiate. Interment will follow at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, Oklahoma. Services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
