TAHLEQUAH – Archie Weese, the twin son of John and Pearl Weese, was born March 23, 1923, at Cove Creek, Ark. He passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at 11:55 p.m. at the age of 85 years, seven months and 14 days.Archie grew up at Park Hill and Tahlequah. He married Neva Watson on April 30, 1946, in Tahlequah, Okla. Archie was a loving father, dad, grandfather and a well-known concrete finisher. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, listening to music and spending time with his family. He attended the Etta Bend Baptist Church.Archie was preceded in death by his parents; wife Neva; son, Gary Weese; daughter Carlin Doss; and two brothers, Archie's twin Harvey and Robert Weese. He is survived by his four sons, Larry Weese of the home, John Weese and wife Kathy of Welling, Okla., Archie Laymon and wife Cindy Weese of Stilwell, Okla., and Mike Weese and wife Tammie of Tahlequah; three daughters, Darlene Gatewood and husband Calvin of Tahlequah, Sharon Harbison and husband Dean of Hulbert, Okla., and Linda Davis of Tahlequah; sister Flora Choate and husband Joe of Blackgum, Okla.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many other relatives, loved ones and friends.Graveside services were held at Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Caney Cemetery with Brother Frank Davis officiating. Services were entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
