Funeral services for Viola Sanders, age 86, will be held on Monday January 7, 2008 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Duvall officiating.

Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery. Viola's services have been entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah, OK.

Viola (Gregory) Sanders of Welling, Oklahoma, was born on October 3, 1921, at Stilwell, OK., near Chalk Bluff, the daughter of John Wesley Gregory and Josie (Sheffield) Gregory.

She passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Tahlequah, Oklahoma after reaching the age of 86 years and 3 months.

She married her childhood sweetheart, John Mitchell Sanders on November 26, 1941, at Tailholt, OK., with Rev. Willard Jamison officiating. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in November 2007, to this union five children were born, four daughters and one son.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, ten sisters, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John Mitchell Sanders of the home, daughters; Mary Scott of Welling, OK., Sue Swarer and husband Jerry of Tulsa, OK., son; George Mitchell Sanders, and wife Diana, daughters; Kaye McManus and husband, Jimmy and Sharon Sanders, all of Welling, OK., 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, and a host of other relatives friends and neighbors.
