Larry Dean Hammer was born in Tahlequah on Thursday, March 14, 1957, the son of Clint Hammer and Juanita (Houston) Hammer-Robbins. After completing high school, he attended college at Conners State University in Warner.

On Feb. 22, 1980, he married the love of his life, Gloria A. Glory, in Tahlequah. This union was blessed with four daughters. Larry supported his family by driving trucks for the Cherokee Nation, and then serving as their lead warehouse worker when he was no longer able to drive.

When he wasn't working, Larry enjoyed fishing and going on scenic drives. He loved to listen to gospel music and spent time joking around with his friends and family. He was the happiest when he had the time to lavish his attention on his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

Larry was very proud of his family and made sure he was always there for them. A Baptist by faith, Larry attended Elm Tree Baptist Church. He was called to his heavenly rest on Friday, April 30, 2010, in Tulsa with his family at his side. He was 53 years old. Larry will be greatly missed by his many family and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Clint Hammer, in 1997; his stepfather, Jess Robbins, also in 1997; sister Vera Ann Hammer; two brothers, Terry Hammer and Darrell Hammer; his grandmother, Ancie Hair; and his aunt and uncle, Leon Lee and Nancy Carol Bird.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Gloria, of the home, and his mother, Juanita Robbins of Tahlequah. Larry leaves four daughters, Shawna Pritchett and husband Anthony of Welling, Deana Hammer and significant other Timothy Dunn of Tahlequah, Dacia Hammer and significant other Edwin Dunn of Bunch, and Karen Hammer of Tahlequah. His brothers and sister include Darren Robbins and wife Teresa of Hulbert, Diedra Robbins of Tahlequah, Tim Robbins of Welling, stepbrother Anthony Robbins of Stilwell, and niece Clarissa Hammer of Tahlequah.
