Graveside services for R.H. “Shorty” Proux, 92, were at 11 a.m. Monday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, with Rev. Dwight Hawkins, minister of the Marsden Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Proux was born February 11, 1901, in St. Marks, Georgia, the son of Ernest D. and Hattic C. Smith Proux, and died September 22, 1993, at his home south of Overbrook.

He had lived in the Ardmore area since 1927, moving there from El Reno. He married Velma Marian Huggins on July 24, 1927, in Ardmore. He worked as an auto mechanic all of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velma Proux of the home; a brother, Marvin Proux of Fayetteville, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
