Services for Maureen Elizabeth Cobb Hunt, 94, of Ardmore were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 10 in the McClure Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore with Reverend Dan Patman officiating.
Born September 8, 1920 at Thackerville, the daughter of Franklin David and Hattie Garrison Cobb, she died Friday, November 7, 2014.
Maureen and John William Earl Hunt were married in 1942. She loved her church, the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Chester Dennis Sunday School class, volunteered at the Clothes Closet and helped in many other ways.
Maureen was a charter member of the Pink Ladies, a volunteer group at the Ardmore Memorial Hospital. She was also an avid bridge player and had many friends from bridge clubs in both Ardmore and Marietta. Another love in her younger years was dancing. John and Maureen were quite the striking couple.
Many people will remember Maureen as the manager of the Animal Health Center in Ardmore for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her co-workers, as well as visiting and helping customers.
Maureen had been residing at Southbrook Health Care in Ardmore where she had been given loving attention for two years. Cross Timbers Hospice provided tremendous comfort and care in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; two brothers, Theo Cobb and Melvin Dennis Cobb and two sisters, Orea Cobb Bond and Juanita Cobb Foster.
Survivors include a son, John Jarvis Hunt and his wife Linda of Lone Grove; a daughter, Carolyn Kay Hunt Seaman and her husband Gary Lynn of Dallas; two sisters, Raydia Gale cobb Delashaw of Oklahoma City and Helen Patsy Cobb Samford of Wylie, Texas; two grandchildren, David Paul Hunt and his wife Sharon of Lone Grove and Tracie Michelle Petty and her husband Bryan of Edmond; four great-grandchildren, Derrick Paul Hunt of Ardmore, Ashley Nicole Hunt Cesa and her husband Nick of Lone Grove and Sidney Elizabeth Petty and Reece Emerson Petty, both of Edmond; a great-great-grandson, Cheston David Cesa and numerous nephews and nieces around the United States. Locally, there are Kenneth L. and Cory Delashaw of Marietta, Martha Jean Delashaw McCuddy of Oklahoma City, Julie Samford Gresham of Dallas and Brady Ray Hunt of Midwest City.
