William Richard Davis

Born August 14, 1916, in Hamilton, Texas, Mr. Davis died October 23, 1992, at his home.
He was the son of William E. and Ethel Lee Flippen Davis. Mr. Davis, an oil field worker and farmer, moved to Ardmore from Marietta in 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a member of the Marietta American Legion Post #136 and the K Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis married the former Ruby Taylor October 4, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Davis of the home in Ardmore; a son, Richard Davis of Healdton; a brother, Jimmy Davis of Walters; three sisters, Verna Mae Bray and Betty June Featherson of Healdton, and Janette Reanau of Cushing; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father in 1975 and his mother in 1991.
Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Healdton, under the direction of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Assisting as pallbearers were George Harkey, Max Beasley, R.F. Dees, Virgil Walker, Buddy Cochran, and Eldridge Colston.
