Interment followed in the McAlister Cemetery near Overbrook.
Born March 17, 1947, in Lawton, the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Yearby LaFontain, she died Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Baylor Medical Center, Irving.
Mrs. Medina was a cosmetologist for 20 years and most recently was employed as a customer service representative for Citifinancial. She was also an avid bowler and of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, JoAnn Ingram and Myrna Gardner and a niece, Mary Ingram Hite.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert Medina of the home; a son, Carmen Medina of Irving; a daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Michael Sampson of Marietta; two brothers, Duane Baptiste and Devon Baptiste, both of Irving; a sister, Diane Gonzalez of Irving; four grandchildren, Jessica Sampson, Meagan Sampson, Dillon Sampson and Catherine Medina; and a great-grandchild, Presley Beck.
Pallbearers were James Noahubbi, Russell Williams, Darrell Brokeshoulder, Brad Sampson, Cory Gardner and Brandon Smith. Honorary bearers were her nephews.
