Services for Voncille Hughes, 73, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Larry Murray officiating. 

Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hughes was born March 13, 1926 in Love County to Bill and Lucille Brown Stuckey.  She died February 14, 2000, at her residence.  She had lived in Ardmore the past 30 years and was a former nurses' assistant at Memorial Hospital and a nursing home.  She married Herchel Hughes on December 8, 1944 in Carter County. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, August 14, 1983; and a daughter, Barbara Cavitt.

She is survived by four sons, Randy Hughes of Tulsa, Herchel L. Hughes of Thackerville, Larry D. Hughes & Billy J. Hughes of Ardmore; three daughters, Jean McMillian of Lone Grove, Sharon Burkhart of Ardmore, and Betty Greenaway of San Diego, California; two brothers, Raymond Stuckey of McMillan, and Waco Stuckey of Springer; two sisters, Onita Fincher of Marietta, and Virginia Kelly of McMillan; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.
