Services for Peggy Fay Hibbs, 71, of Marietta will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 4 in Marietta’s Eastside Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.

Born February 7, 1939 in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of Fred Charles and Maretta Elizabeth Clark Latham, she died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at her residence in Marietta.

Mrs. Hibbs had been a resident of this area since 1995, moving here from Anaheim, California. She and Lewis LeeRoy Hibbs were married in Anaheim, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1992. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Peggy was a hard-working woman. She loved her family and friends and would do anything for anyone. She was always sewing something for someone or watching kids which was more of a hobby than a job. Her pride and joy was her granddaughter, Kimberly, with whom she had a special bond. Peggy was always bragging about her and her miracle great-grandson, Logan. She also looked forward to her long phone conversations with her daughter, LeaAnn. She loved her family with everything she had and spoke often of her trips to Amarillo, Texas and her wonderful son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Latham; four sisters, Wanda Latham-Smith, Lillian Latham-Smith, Viva Latham-Tucket and Verbal Latham-Jackson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Aida Rimel of Amarillo and Jim and Karen Rimel of Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy LeaAnn Johnson and Tobance of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Hibbs of Marietta, Natasha Rimel, Nichole Rimel and Vetieshia Rimel of Amarillo, Cheyenne Rimel of Ardmore and Chase Rimel, also of Amarillo; and great-grandchildren, Logan Fraire, Gage Imel-Rimel, Kameron Shaffer, Tristin Fields, Sheree Fields and Marselle Clark.

Pallbearers will be Adam Gonzalez, Arthur “Taco” Fraire, Gabriel Samarron, Guillermo De La Torre Jr., Carlos Fraire and Johnny Aguilar. Honorary bearers will be Arnaldo Fraire, Toby Johnson, Steven Morehead, Christy Morehead, Alexia Sanders, Andrea Sanders, Kendra Hartman and Zack Hartman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
