Services for Jessie Mae Cross, 98, of Marietta, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 11 in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Gunsolus officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Ardmore.

Born February 23, 1912 in Caddo, the daughter of Elmer and Rosa Lane Bell, she died Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.

Mrs. Cross had been a resident of Marietta since 2005, previously making her home in Ardmore. She and B.C. “Jack” Cross were married in Carter County on December 21, 1929, and he preceded her in death in January 1970. Mrs. Cross was a homemaker who truly enjoyed taking care of her family, especially cooking for her grandchildren. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jackie R. “Jack” Cross; two daughters, an infant and Thelma Joyce Hendrix; a granddaughter, Linda Banks; a sister, Margaret Boucher; and a brother, Frank Bell.

Survivors included a daughter-in-law, Artie Cross of Marietta; a sister, Juanita Brownen of Ardmore; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Erick Banks, Kyle Banks, Jason Faulkner, Aaron McGehee and Matt Son; and Ray White and Tony Son. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Tom O’Connor, and the staff of Lake Country Nursing Center and Mercy Health Love County.

Viewing will be until 5 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
