Mary Fay Johnson, age 76, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Mary was born on November 10, 1949, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to William Larence and Norma Blondell (Way) Dunigan. She attended and graduated from Zaneis Schools. On April 12, 1968, she married the love of her life, Roy Glynn Johnson, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Together they built a loving home and shared more than 58 years of marriage. Mary worked at Wilson Nursing Home and briefly as an X-ray technician at Ardmore Hospital, but the role she cherished most was being a homemaker. She devoted her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Mary found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing cards and dominoes with her family, spending time with her beloved aunt, JoAnn, and making trips to the casino together. She and her daughter-in-law, Melina, shared countless games of Yahtzee, creating memories that will forever be treasured. Above all, Mary was a proud mother to her four boys, whom she loved with all her heart, and a devoted Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived by the saying, "No matter how bad it is, someone always has it worse," a reflection of her grateful spirit and compassionate heart.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William Larence and Norma Blondell Dunigan; her brother, O'Dell Dunigan and wife, Luella; her sisters, Norma Sue Dunigan, Patsy Fondren and husband, Wesley, and Judy Lee and husband, Jimmy; her daughter-in-law, Melina Johnson; and her great-grandchild, Takoda Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Roy Glynn Johnson of the home; her sons, Kevin Johnson and wife, Teri, Jeff Johnson, Will Johnson and wife, Tina, and Waylan Johnson and wife, Britany; her sister, Patricia Eaton and husband, Tommy; her grandchildren, Finas Nipp, Rodney Johnson and wife, Desirae, Tony Johnson and wife, Courtney, Nicole Cue and husband, Heath, Chris Johnson and wife, Marisa, Beth Johnson, Devin Adams and wife, Elisabeth, Lauren Hagood, Gavin Johnson, Ethan Johnson and wife, Rayme, Chelsea Johnson, Brayden Johnson, Lelan Johnson, Chyanne Johnson, and Joplyn Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Addison Johnson, Rylee Johnson, Jack Smith, Kizer Cue, Gracely Johnson, Hayden Cue, Juniper Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Lazarus Johnson, Archer Johnson, and Maggie Adams; along with a host of other loving family members and dear friends.
